Textiles and Interior Design Concepts

Textiles are part of our environmental initiatives on board: For our terry cloth items in the cabins and for guest linens, we collaborate with partners such as Dibella. They manufacture their products from 100 percent GOTS-certified organic cotton. GOTS certification establishes environmental requirements for cotton cultivation as well as social and environmental criteria for further processing throughout the supply chain.

Our award-winning bar is bubbling with sustainability

Creative ideas can be found even in places you might not expect. For example, if you are sailing on Mein Schiff 3 be sure to visit the Grööne Bar. The cocktail display has already had a previous life – the printed surface is made of recycled carpet, while the 3D-printed base is made of recycled medical packaging. In addition, the carpets are made of undyed wool and thus have natural colors. What´s more, they are hold cradle-to-cradle certification that upholds the principle of recycling raw materials. This effort has paid off, with the designer of the Grööne Bar scooping a CSI Award in the "Most Sustainable Interior” category.

Café Bar on Mein Schiff 6

We also use resource-efficient materials in the Café Bar on Mein Schiff 6. The chairs and side tables are made of either recycled or recyclable materials, with others made of natural cork.

Just like in the Grööne Bar on Mein Schiff 3, undyed carpets with natural colors grace the floor. Cheers to the environment!
